The UK has very few species of frog, this is Rana temporaria, the common frog. I had a wooden disc that I'd painted foliage on so he/she can live there. Frogs are popular in my house. Acrylic on wooden board. 60cms diam approx.

Both these species are listed as endangered on the IUCN red list. The tallest land mammal and the largest (in size) land mammal, iconic animals throughout my lifetime. It seems unimaginable that their existence is threatened by the continuing actions of humans, its truly saddening but its often mentioned that its not yet irreversible if we curtail the impact we have on nature by consciously changing our actions both individually and by pressuring our governing authorities to act quicker. Acrylic on canvas 100cms x 80cms.

Water is a bizarre substance, it does weird stuff, acts weirdly, not fully understood scientifically. It often conveys extreme beauty, it can have awesome destructive power, it is the source of all life on our planet, without it we're dead, it may ultimately lead to our end. Acrylic on canvas 50cms x 40cms (19.5 inches x 16 inches). SOLD.

Commissions are harder than just doing my own thing but from doing difficult things we are able to grow. I had a battle with this one, I find that is a good thing. They were happy with it, other people liked it too. Acrylic on canvas 56cms x 56cms (22 inches x 22 inches). SOLD.

More insects. Ladybirds are cool. I remember in the 1970s there being plagues/population explosions of ladybirds in the summer. The double glazing in my Grandparents flat filled up halfway with ladybirds one year. I'm fairly sure that wasn't a dream. They also eat aphids, which if you're trying to grow stuff in your garden is a good thing. 80cms x 60cms (31.5 inches x 24inches). SOLD.

Silhouetted forest over a marbled background. Marbling is such a fun process. The Turkish discipline of Ebru takes it to a level of fine skill, it looks easy when you watch an expert do it, it really isn't easy. But even my clumsy efforts have produced very pleasing results. Acrylic on paper, includes Birchwood frame 64cms x 54cms (25 inches x 21 inches). Prices include postage to the UK and Europe.

More bees. What is wifi or other tech in the air doing to our wildlife? We have no idea, but sure as shit we're going to find out over time..... Acrylic on canvas 100cms x 80cms (39.5 inches x 31.5 inches). SOLD.

Dream type image of butterflies in the forest. Acrylic on canvas 60cms x 60cms (24inches x 24inches). Prices include postage to the UK and Europe.

I love birds and birdsong. I feel so at peace when listening to the birds even though I know they're talking sexy or talking fighty. When I'm up early enough to hear the dawn chorus I feel transported out of myself, there is only my consciousness and the birdsong, nothing else. this is actually two pictures next to each other. 80cms x 60 cms (31.5 inches x 24 inches). SOLD.

A large male chicken on an azteccy background. Don't be vulgar.... Acrylic on canvas 100cms x 70cms (39.5 inches x 27.5 inches). Prices include postage to the UK and Europe.

It's all about the colours in Autumn, leaves fall, they go all through the range of green through yellow, orange, red to brown. It strikes a certain peace in me, the end of the season, the beginning of regeneration, of the winter stillness. Like a breath out after the busy time of summer. Acrylic on canvas 60cms x 60cms (24 inches x 24 inches). SOLD

More dream forest, this time in dream autumn. Acrylic on canvas. Can't remember how big they are. SOLD.

So if Toucan Barbets were a favourite daytime bird in Ecuador, the undisputed favourite night time bird was this one the Potoo. Huge eyes and an almost flip top head and a crazy call, we always piled out to see one if they turned up at the lodge. Acrylic on canvas 80cms x 40cms (31.5 inches x 16 inches). Prices include postage to the UK and Europe. SOLD

Buff tailed Bumblebee (Bombus terrestris), they're the biggest bees we have in the UK. We have 24 species of bumblebee in the UK and something like 250 species of bees generally, most of them solitary species. These ones live underground in colonies. Lovely bombebomps. I love painting insects, I get a close up view of these beasts which so often pass by hardly noticed. They're intricate, weird and beautiful, occasionally terrifying. Imagine if they were as big as us, we'd be cacking it! Acrylics on wooden board 60cms (ish) diameter. This is for my sister but can be done similarly on request. Price will depend on size and will include postage to the UK and Europe. A better picture will follow (ahem...excuse me). SOLD

I went to the Galapagos in 2012. It is well hyped for it's amazing marine life and the multitude that occupies it's coastal seas. I'd been living in the rainforest and though the wildlife there is similarly hyped to be amazing (which it is) you very rarely see it. The Galapagos lives up to it's hype, as soon as I put my head under water to go snorkelling the first time I was surrounded by masses of colourful, vibrant marine animals, beautiful coral, sea lions, rays, hundreds of different types of fish, marine iguanas, sharks and sea turtles. It was truly amazing. I spent a large proportion of everyday under water while I was there, exploring and enjoying the wonder of it all. The only drawback was the sunburn but I would bear that anytime to swim those waters again. Acrylic on canvas 60cms (24 inches) diameter. SOLD.

Butterfly disc. Species featured are Peacock, Red Admiral, Clouded Yellow, Adonis Blue and British Swallowtail. Of the 59 species of butterfly found in the UK something like two thirds of them are under threat. I always enjoy seeing them, reminds me of summer and childhood, calms my soul. Take time to see the butterflies, take a moment with them and allow them to bring peace into your heart. Acrylic on wooden board 60 cms diam, approx. Price includes delivery to the UK and Europe.

Had a little commission. The theme was ferns and kestrels. Instead of just doing one, I did four, they took two of them. Here's the first one. I stencilled around actual ferns from my garden. Couldn't get a kestrel to stay still long enough to stencil round it, damn thing wouldn't stop moving. Acrylic on canvas 42 cms x 29 cms. Available. Price includes postage and packing to the UK and Europe.

Quick painting, just for fun. I think it might be a buff tailed Bumblebee (Bombus terrestris). Looks like it's flying in the rain. Oil on canvas (acrylic background) 76cms x 51cms. SOLD

I've been enjoying doing hand studies, here's one of them. Thee background demanded hands working in bushes, hence the subject matter. The caterpillar is a bit invented I admit. Oil on canvas 76cms x 61cms. Price includes packaging and postage to the UK and Europe. SOLD

Vibrant colours in oils to paint this avian friend. This one hung in a gallery for a while but didn't get picked up unfortunately. Almost as soon as it came out of the gallery it was bought privately and went to a new happy owner. The bush reminds me of the rain forest, lush and full of life. Oil on canvas 60cms x 50cms.
