I lived in the cloud-forest in Ecuador for a year and a half working as a biologist. The bird life there was fantastic, a huge variety of species. Among my favourites were the Toucan Barbets, rainbow crows. They exude intelligence, constantly chatting to each other, looking like they are up to mischief. I always stopped to watch them whenever they turned up at the lodge. Wonderful creatures. Acrylic on canvas 56cms x 56cms (22 inches x 22 inches). SOLD.

Acrylic pouring is how I achieve some of my backgrounds. Mixing acrylic colours with silicone and hair serum and other stuff helps them to keep separate and create swirly patterns. I got commissioned to do some of that on round canvases for some event. Here's the first one. SOLD.

Similar to Pink Pour 1, this was a commission for an event a couple of years ago. I did the first one and then they said "yeah that's nice, can you do us another just like it only pinker", sure I said and then bastard would not behave "just like the other one", fortunately they liked it. Note to self, don't trust the acrylic pour to do what you want it to do, it'll do what it wants to do most times. SOLD.

Ram Dass. Commission piece for a lovely friend. Ram Dass though has had influence in my life indirectly. Him and Timothy Leary introduced a generation, first to the joys and woes of LSD and psylocibin experiences, and then Ram Dass through his spiritual journey and writings opened a way for many to their spiritual potential. The trickle down from his journey has affected mine. Acrylic on canvas 60cms x 60cms (24 inches x 24 inches) SOLD.

When I was a teenager she was right in the mix of it all. Too cool to be a new romantic, just plain cool. I didn't realise until later that she was one of the original punks, when there were only about 50 of them in total in 1975/76 and on TV with the Sex pistols in their famous interview when Reg Grundy got them to swear on a prime time watching spot. Seems tame now but it was way out there in the 70s. Acrylic on canvas 60cms x 60cms (24 x 24 inches). SOLD.

Arguably the best juggler ever, Francis Brunn. This picture was a commission for a juggler (I've also been a pro juggler on and off for many years). The painting is based on Francis' routine and final mind blowing trick where he included 12 objects (that's really hard!). Although one of these characters in the painting is not Francis, it's Ernest Montego who was the only man to go one better and include 13 objects in the Brunn finish. Acrylic on canvas 60 cms x 60 cms. SOLD

This one took a while. A commission for a wedding present with a list of memories; divers, cyclists, cafes, buddhas, a cat, a beach resort in Bali, a turtle at a cleaning station and a couple of Bali Mynahs for good measure . It was fun to try to work out it how to get all the bits in it. Acrylic on canvas 60 cms x 60 cms. SOLD

Commissions are harder than just doing my own thing but from doing difficult things we are able to grow. I had a battle with this one, I find that is a good thing. They were happy with it, other people liked it too. Acrylic on canvas 56cms x 56cms (22 inches x 22 inches). SOLD.
