John Peel

John's was the voice of my musical education. It seemed like he was always there on the radio as an alternative to the mainstream. With him I discovered reggae, punk, experimental out there music and loads of bands that I would have never encountered otherwise. I couldn't quite believe it when he died, I felt robbed, it was like losing a family member or a friend. His voice was always a comfort, I still miss him.
